Recently I received the Legend TUSK II set in anticipation of doing an M1A2 after I finish my Leo 2 I'm working on. Looking over the various pieces most are very nice, however I'm kind of underwhelmed with the resin M2 .50 cal for mounting above the main gun. I have a couple of spare Dragon Ma Dueces in the spares box from other M1 kits, but don't have a good picture of the mounting cradle sans weapon for scratching one from styrene, other than what is in the Tankograd TUSK book. Thoughts?

This is how full TUSK-2 kit looks like on M1A2SEP (probably v.2):
As seen on photo, M32 ARAT-2 cassettes are placed on the full lenght of side turret surface, in Iraq probably due to shortcomings in supplys not all tanks were fitted with full set of cassettes over side turret surface. Other possibility is that this is upgrade after leassons learned with use of TUSK-2 kit.

That's a good question. I had to ask the same thing about a year ago. Prime Portal has a few VERY good shots of an empty .50 cradle, if you care to dig around over there. In my build log of an A2 with the same Legends upgrade kit, you can see how I went about scratching the gun mounts with some thin styrene sheet and DML spare .50s. In the end, it looked far better than the Legends mount/gun, and it was super easy to do. The DML guns are also more accurate in scale, I'd say. Here is a link to the build log if it helps. Sorry in advance if they're not the highest quality images.

Nice photos but for some reason the .50 Cals look fake...they look too skinny

You would be correct Scott. So as not to deal with the hassle of the storing and transporting actual firearms, many defense contractors just use mocked up M2's. Guess it's easier than getting someone to draw them from the arms room but it always makes them look cheesy to me.
