Hi all
I've posted this over on 6th scale aswell
I want to do an SS MG-34 squad from France in 1940 but I couldn't find a 34 Lafette (tripod),but having the Dragon MG-42 tripod kit#75017 I noticed there are quite a few unused parts which looked like the makings of a 34 tripod, after a bit of searching I found this fantasic site..

http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=394897

yep all the bits are there to do one (or three now!!!)

It all works, you can change the barrel just like the real one

I found the metal tripods too heavy to place on the backs of figures, and the paint to thick which lead to breakages on the extending parts, plus the kit has the remote squeeze trigger, opict sight, straps and data plate decal .
The kit MG-42 fits perfect on the metal tripod, unlike the one that came with it!!!!.
The only down side with the kit are the instrustions which are quite poor, that runs inline with Dragons 1/6th range of kits apart from the Jeep.

Its like the Mauser werke on my work bench at the moment!

Thanks for looking, and I hope this helps

Andy, quite a beautiful looking kit. I love the idea of it being all workable and I must say that your painting of the gun itself is fantastic. What paints or process did you use to achieve such results? Now for you to try something similar in Braille scale!

Cheers,
Jan

Looking Good Andy.

A real combat deal going on there.

Fantastic deal and 6 Mg's now.

So where the heck you been hiding at?

Have you seen that 1/6 scale Panzer II Dragon is coming out with?

Got to add that to the collection.
