I'm going to try the salt chipping method on my Obel Blitz Soft Skin Campaign Build. Can anyone tell me what the primer coat color would be? I plan to use faded grey for the main paint color.

I believe that it might be red oxide. This is based on this photo of the door from a Maultier. The stencilled shipping label shows that it is in fact a Ford Maultier, and who can say if all the factories used the same primer. I don't know if the same primer would have been used on the wooden bed of a truck as on the metal cab, and it is likely that the two parts were not even made in the same factory. In fact this door is wood or cardboard or something non-metal like that in any case.
Anyway, note the red ringed area where a hinge was attached which shows a red-brown under coat.
