Hi Folks,

I thought i'd start the Vajra D9 armoured dozer this weekend.. I believe its not really a straight D9R, its more a mix of a few different ones. Still, its a GREAT kit, and will certainly look the goods when done.

Its cast in grey resin, and comes in a sturdy box, with all the parts zip locked bagged within.

Here are some shots. Nothing apart from the running gear outriggers are glued in place.. still LOTS of clean up to do on these parts even. I think that will be the recurring theme here, clean up, clean up, clean up.

nasty cast plug remnants here:

Beautifully cast:

More nasty cast marks!

SO, if anyone can help, im chasing more shots of these in use, not sure if i'll do it as a US one in Iraq, or as an Israeli one at this stage.

Has anyone else built this kit and can provide some pointers as to where all the hydralic lines go?

Thanks in advance,

Sam Dwyer

I'll be following your build Sam. The boys have been bugging me to get mine started. There were a couple mag articles recently, #54 AFV Modeller and #179 of TMMI.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I've got a little more done, mostly cleaning up and filling holes. I swear, the more you sand and clean up, the more bubble holes reveal themselves. This kit is the Aero Bar of the hobby world..

Lots of putty, lots to clean up

Here's the back end after a careful sand. Still a mess.. and those tail lights..
I've cut them out entirely, with a view to replacing them. It looks like there was a square light in this recess, and a regular US/Nato black out/distance light (similar to the ones between the headlight and the IR light on an M113 light cluster). Over the top of the light assembly looks to be 1/4 or 1/2 inch steel re-oh welded as a guard. I'm only going off pics in the Concord book - does anyone have any close up shots of this area? Robert ?

Not a huge amount of progress.. i blame Medal of Honor on the xbox!

Hi Sam

You'll find some hi-res walkaround pics of an IDF D9R on Flickr that may be helpful :

But the bar armor makes some details a bit harder to see...
