I am looking for some good information on the interior of the M163 Vulcan, preferably the IDF version (if there is any difference).
also any information on the fuel tank and how it differs to the standard M113 fuel tank and the additional ammunition stores

Verlinden's WarMachines M113 book (vol 1 if I remember right) has many detailed interior pics of the163, but it's a US version.

Keith,
I started looking for info on the differences on interior setup between US and IDF Vulcans quite some time ago. I managed to find just couple of IDF M163 interior pics which are not very detailed... I used Verlinden's book Mike suggested for most of my build: link

thanks Guys
I had seen a couple of the builds but I ma still at loss to where the actual fuel tanks sits on the M163
using Mario build picture, where the fuel tanks normally sits in the back left hand corner on the M113 on the M163 this is in fact a additional ammunition feed for the main gun according to the Verlinden book, but if that is the case where does the fuel go (other than maybe some form of external tanks on the back) unless the additional ammunition container sits directly in front of the fuel, and assume that it connects some how to the actual turret bin.
cheers

Exactly, the ammo container sits in front of the fuel tank. HobbyFan simplified this in their interior set and I found out about that too late...

Is there a top view that shows the fuel filler cap?
In this picture it looks like it's close to the normal position. Also the left rear fender has the drain channel common to M113s that have non-removable fuel tanks.
The fuel line either runs under the floor boards or alongside the hull interior at the bottom.

hi Paul
the picture i have show the fuel filler cap in the same place, I just couldn't work out how deep the additional ammo feeder was and if it sat in the fuel cell position.
but I get the feeling it actually sits in front of the fuel cell although I guess later version used the rear external fuel cells
cheers

Keith, I found some M163 manuals that could be helpful. A friend scanned those when I was looking for Vulcan info. Drop me a PM and I'll pass them on.
