I had picked up this kit cheap and was pleasantly surprised when I started building it. Except when I got to the tracks. They are too long, no glue on earth sticks to them, and I have thrown them out in a fit of disgust and mild hatred. But I still want to finish the kit. Can someone recomend me tracks for this? Rather than Fruils, are any of the plastic tracks good? Feedback would be appreciated.

Hi

Three choices beyond Fruils.

ModelKasten, WW2 Productions in Oz and Accurate Armour in the UK.

Links to

WW2 tracks review

AA resin tracks
I think these come in sections to bend around sprockets etc..

Can't find a link for a review on MK but they are available after some hunting around.

Finally if you can put the kit away and forget about it for several months maybe longer Dragon may well sell the Magic Tracks from their forthcoming release as a separate item but thats just an assumption on my part, or even wishful thinking

I used Model Kasten on my RSO a few years ago. Good design, workable if you are careful with assembly, but a little fiddley to assemble, sort of reminded me of the effort needed for the DML Sherman tracks with the seperate end caps.

If memory serves me correct, you should be able to use any tracks intended for a Pz I on the Steyr RSO. Both the Friul and MK tracks are significantly better than the kit tracks.

No, sorry I think your mixing it up with the Opel Maultier.

The RSO tracks are different and not compatible.

Alas, no, the RSO tracks were a unique design used only on those tractors. They were considerably wider than Panzer I track.

Alan: Ah yes, you are indeed correct sir. And I do hope that Dragon will issue their RSO tracks as an individual item.

Gerald: True true, just double checked them with the Maultier tracks out of curiosity and they are indeed different widths.
