The YW-531 was a Chinese-built APC that saw significant action during Desert Storm. Always thought is was a cool looking track and now Bronco is releasing one!

Between this kit and the upcoming M-1114 HUMVEE, Bronco has some nice modern armor subjects coming up. Makes for a nice break from Dragon's continual lame re-hash of German WW2 subjects.

Have to agree. Although I find a lot of the aspects of German WWII armor interesting, there are only so many ways to serve up leftovers....

Gotta dust off my Concord pictorials on Gulf War 1, they all had multiple pictures of these APCs. Very happy that Bronco opted to go with an Iraqi version for their first release as well.

Great news! But from the pictures it doesn't look like it has an interior or did I miss it?

If I remember correctly ,there was an Iraqi "Command vehicle" version based on the "ambulance" chassis as well (a la M-577). Saw a number of these APC variants during Desert Storm (destroyed a few as well).

Is this the same as a Type 63 as used by the NVA towards the end of the Vietnam War?

Apparently the the C has an improved engine over the initial variant. Don't know if this means there are any external differences.
