Very nice review, as always. I had wondered what the difference was between this and the G model. I have the early G with schurzen which had the radio and full gun breech. It sounds like they are offering more of an interior with each kit.

Daryl, Russ, thanks.
The kit's interior is an improvement over the "vanilla" G. Not perfect, but a good, basic start. If you want the real thing, an AM resin interior is probably still the way to go, especially if you want the engine hatches open, or you're a great scratch-builder (I am not).
I do hope with all the positive attention to these StuGs and Pz. IIIs that DML will release a later-production variant of the Ausf. G, perhaps under the CH brand. Not only was the muzzle brake different (flatter and wider), but there is the famous Saukopf ("sow's head")/Topfblende ("pot lid") mantlet instead of the bolted-on one, as well as concrete additions to various parts (easily replicated in some 2-in-1 version, for example), a shot deflector in front of the commander's cuppola, the rumdrumfeurer ("all around auto MG") and other features, including lots of tracks draped here and there on the outside for additional protection. One with proper Zimmerit would also be nice, as the Atak set is probably as much as the kit price.
