Can anyone point me in the direction of, or has one and can take a photo of, a flattened out ww2 USMC duck hunter pattern shelter half ? Green or brown variant, doesn't matter. (Although both would be a bonus )

Thinking about it, both sides of a jacket or trousers might work too.

I have the colour mixes sorted but the main thing I need to find out is how the pattern repeats. All the pictures I can find on the web, or ebay, are too small to make it out with any accuracy.

Thanks for any help you can give me,

Andy (Next project will be olive drab or field gray - I promise myself)

I think the pattern repeat is not very big in duck hunter... I don't have a nice big picture to show, but I think the repeat could be "drawn" with these photos:

Hope it helps,
Mario

Mario,

Thanks for those pictures, I have the bottom two and they are quite clear. I will have to take a best guess at the repeat but will use those images for the actual pattern.

Sometimes I think that I read far too much into painting a camo pattern rather than just doing it

(Anyway, need to finish those Fallschirmjager first )

Andy, I know exactly what you mean and I must admit I'm completely the same... not just finding references for camo patterns but also reading about their origins and all that stuff. I have most modern camo repeats figured out, but very few WW2 patterns sparked my interest so far... so I'm sorry I can't help more with the duck hunter.
