Hi all,
I seem to remember that in the 1970s a Japanese company made a 1/35 kit of the Mercedes G4 staff car....complete with figures. Does anyone know the name of the company? It must be a collector's item today. Andrea miniatures also makes metal kit of this vehicle. I'd like to find the styrene kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Frenchy...you are the absolute best! Thanks much for the info. The $250.00 price tag for this rare kit is a bit much. Thanks again.

Hi

Yes it goes on Ebay in the UK for silly money when it comes up. Not really worth the money but rest assured as soon as you buy it somebody will announce a plastic kit of it to be released shortly.

This one costs a bit less.

You could also go for a slightly smaller and cheaper version:

Hasegawa 31128 - Mercedes Benz G4/W31, comes with 6 figures.

Thanks Guys,
I have the 1/72 Hasegawa kit and the Plus Model kit, from everything I've heard, is not very easy to build. I'm not throwing out $250.00 for an old, albeit rare, 1970s kit.

I guess I'll wait until they produce a styrene version......hopefully before I'm too old to build it.

Ha ha, I also have the Tilt kit in my loft - I made the kit and painted it Panzer grey, like the cars Hitler used during the invasion of Poland. Sacrilege! I remember it had a huge tin gearbox for the motorization on the back wheels that wasn't really hidden by the body. I would not really recommend it to anyone to build nowadays, even at a reasonable price. Do you think I could get £250 for it assembled?
