Hi,All,
I'm in the process of collecting info on what type of Bulldozer blade was used on M46 Pattons used in Korea. Was the dozer kit a M2? or M3? or something differnt
all together.? I do need reference (photos & manual info,.anything) on what type of dozer kit was used. I would like to build a M46 with dozer,I just don't know the type at this moment in time.
You can contact me at [email protected] with any info you may have to share. I can trade for the info,I'm sure something can e worked out.
Thank You,In advance for any help on this matter.

I have never seen an M46 with a dozer blade. From what I have seen, the dozer tanks in Korea were Shermans w/M1 dozer blades. If there were M46 dozer tanks, I would like to see them too.

It's an M3.
Info is always free. However, I'm curious if the kit comes with the M26 searchlight.

Hi,Gino, and Robert,
The photo Robert posted here is the main one I had found for my build idea.
I had never seen any M46 with dozer blade till I ran across that photo.
A M3 blade I don't know much about how the blade would work, mainly the highering and lowering of the blade.
I'm thinking maybe the ADY M9 dozer blade may work for this, just saome backdating would need to be done.
Yes,The M26 searchlight with mounting frame is in the DML M46 Patton.

Hi,Robert and Erik,
Robert,As for the light,At this time all be keeping it.But if it looks like I will not need it,sure. I"ll just send it your way no trade needed.I'll keep in touch on that matter.
Erik,Thank you for the photo, never seen that one before.
I guess the M3 dozer set up was a more or less a piston type set up is what I'm thinking. As for the markings on the M46 with the anti bazooka screen,I just see 44 and what may be a E as well. Does anyone have markings info to share ?
Cheers!

Howdy Mike, here is the caption from the Defense Imagery website:
FENCE TO KEEP ROCKET OUT - Looking from the left front at a M-46 tank dozer of "Dog Company, 1st Tank Battalion, with a wire fence cage around the turret, which was designed to explode 3.5 rockets the enemy is firing before they hit the tank. The wire fence turns with the turret. NARA FILE #: 127-GK-234D-A170228

It is a USMC tank. The letter would not be an 'E' if it is in fact 'Dog' company. USMC tank companies were lettered A thru D. Here is the link to the picture:

Hi,Mike,
Thank You, This does shine some light on the subject at best as to the markings.
So a D and a 44 would do the job,The tank SN# would have to be looked into more to find that info.
