Why not 6? I always thought that the waffle was applied to Panther A too....maybe I am wrong.

Hi,
if you go to the Atak site, you can find resin glue-on Zimmerit for various models... By the look of it, the pattern they have for the the Panther. They give various possibilities...among them 2, 6, 3, 9, 4 at least by the look of it...

Hi all
I seem to have heard somewhere that the Italeri Panther A comes with it's own zimmerit. Is this correct? and if so how good is the Kit?
TIA
Peter

its ok for a "normal" modell-builder like me but if u like historically right (i hope u know what i mean) than u need aftermarket products and its a bit "toylike"

With all due respect for all who have answered, my advice is to go to reference materials. It seems we are making a lot of sweeping statements regarding this issue. What pattern of Zimmerit did a Panther wear is a HUGE question, you need to refine your search pattern. What Ausf. Panther are you modeling? Which theatre? Which Unit? Which firm manufactured the tank?
Please remember that Panthers were manufactured by more than one firm, and in many different places, and that hulls and turrets were also manufactured by different firms and in different places. I am leaving other more obvious modeling scenarios out of the equation such as mixed units, and tanks that had been repaired or modified.
I have limited materials on the Panther, (Squadron In action, Concord, Panther: Quest for Combat Supremacy, and Verlindens' lock on) but they all indicate differences from tank to tank and unit to unit.
My long winded point is this: Research and don't EVER apply blanket statements to Axis armor. If you are concerned with accuracy, it will bite you in the butt.
HTH,
Scott
