Can anyone tell me what colour the CIP panell were on British armour, I am told it is white but I have my doubts about that.

Ok I can admit when I am wrong I was convinced it was aluminium.

Am of the impression that as they are made of a material that absorbs light and heat in order to give the difference on the IR and thermal bands, the way cameras’ work they do not work the same as the eyes and I think this is why it shows as white on film and outtakes of videos.
As far as I remember when having them on my vehicle they were a tan colour to the eyes when on sand camouflage, and are green in other theatres.
There will be someone that will dispute this (on film) but the only way to prove, is to have the panel in your hands.

They look white to me. If it is sand on sand, the panel is a very light sand that looks white, not the same sand as the rest of the vehicle. The pic is below. Also, this is how they looked in Basrah, Iraq whene we were co-located with the Brits there.
