Hi all,
After many years painting by hand I have decided its about time I bought an airbrush,I have seen for sale an Premi-air G35 and baby compressor for a good price,as I dont want to fork out loads of money I thought this would be a good starter airbrush. So my question is does anyone know if they are any good and worth getting for someone just starting to airbrush.
Many Thanks for any help given

hi Shaun
the G35 came out very well in a test against other budget airbrushes we did a few years back
airbrush comparison
just ensure that you buy it from a recongised dealer, as there are to many fakes out there if your not careful

Hi Shaun,
I'd save up a little longer and get an Iwata or Grex myself. But if the G35 is your price range, it will serve you well as a first airbrush.
I strongly urge you to visit an invaluable site - www.howtoairbrush.com for lessons, demos, tutorials and videos. They will literally take away all the fear and make you an airbrush ace.

Hi
I know what I am about to say will up-set a few but hay what the heck.
For painting models and using all the common model paint in both enamel and acrylics, you don't need to go to anything more expensive than the Iwata Revolution CR & BR, any thing more will just be more money spent for no actual advantage gained. those two brushes will do every thing you could want them to do.

I use a Sparmax SP-35C. As far as I'm aware the SP-35 series is the "original" manufacturer's version of the Premi-air G-35, though my Sparmax doesn't have the cut-away handle as on the G-35.
Either way, it's a fine brush with excellent control of the spray pattern. The taper on the needle is gentle, so control is very linear. This means that you don't go from a fine line/shadow to a flood of paint with the tiniesr movement of the trigger. (This is a good thing for an airbrush novice)
It's been a good reliable brush and been capable of everything I've asked of it. I've had it for 4 years and haven't bent or broken anything yet.
