Above is a TOG2 probably the heaviest tank ever, this and the following photo's were some taken by myself while on holiday down in Dorset last week, I have never been to the Dorset Tank Museum before, and its worth every penny.
From thin armour of WW1 right up to modern day armour, there's even an armour plate that had a shell through it.
Original photo's of WW1
For those that don't know, if you click onto a photo, it should open into my flickr system where you'll find a few more photo's.
Hope you enjoy.

Cool photos. Gave me the idea of doing a diorama of a tank museum.

Thanks for that, same thing, click the pix and access the flickr site.
For my money, £125.00 for half a day tank riding is pushing it way to high, there were people there, and a choice of 3 types of tank you could drive/ride, the above photo is just one of those working metal beasts.
Last photo now - and camo, the amount of times I made sure my camo looked good, on this actual tank, probably painted by a 5 year old. Still, all this info is very handy to have.

What did you think of the new layout of the museum Alec? I go there on a fairly regular basis and I have found that it is starting to get filled up again after the vehicle move to the new area.

Hello there, we missed out last year, so making sure we had a good look round this year, is our first time there, we're quite local to Duxford, they have a good armour display there, but nothing as good as the Tank Museum, and although I have built a Whippet, I've never seen one for myself (have now) plus that TOG2 weight at just over 80 tonn - I loved that tank cut right through the middle with a running film commenting on tank gunnery and hunting other tanks in the field, and no matter how I view it, can never understand how a shell can penetrate through that steel belt armour (as photographed) the female tank you can see holes ripped into it, the sheer size of some WW2 tanks are something you have to see to believe.
The B/W blown up pix is a great idea as you go through the gallery a huge German tank pointing towards you. It was a great day out.
