Hi,
After month's of following various resources on armor modelling, scale modelling (in general), building dioramas, I finally decided to start one project. This is my very first model so far and I have no prior experience or expertise in scale modelling or building dioramas or vignettes and mannn it is fun
During the course of the build the biggest challenge I faced are the materials to be used, you see we don't get Celluclay, Vallejo or Tamiya paints etc. in my country so it became quite difficult to find an alternative material...I know this is nowhere near to being a good model but still it's pretty close to my heart as it's my first model...I also learned a great deal while building it like not all paints works well on plastic models..even if you wash the parts properly, during weathering your paint might throw up wrinkles etc....but am sure after few more models I will develop some sort of skills
Enough talking....here are few pictures of the build...brickbats comments most welcome

You have already high lighted the problems of paint types and application, however regardless of the problems you have encountered the diorama base looks to be excellent and well composed with the materials you have been able to locate. Can I suggest something is added to make the gun look more at home, as it looks to have no reason to be there. Well done I look forward to your future projects.

Hello, thank you very much for showing your model.
It looks good, and I also made an "abandoned" diorama. (Trumpeterīs 10 cm Kanone 18)
Your build looks like a german 5 cm AT-gun ... it looks good.
But, have you any ammunition?
Perhaps these will be give a "better" look. (more details)
Greetings to India!

Sudeep, It came out fairly good for a first, better than mine. You have pointed out the obvious with your paint, you learn by doing hey. To try a dio right off with your first model is a good way to get your feet wet. Each time you build you'll find you get better and things are supposed to get easier. I would suggest that you add somethings to your ground work such as empty shell casings or equipment if you have it available. A piece of surgical gaze soaked in tea overnite and draped over the corner of the gun will break up the shape nicely. Just scan through the dio section here and you'll get a good idea. Again nice job and hope to see more in the future.

Greetings.
Looks really good for your first try. I also did an anti-tank gun for my first kit, nowhere as good as what you have.

Looks like my first attempt at armor. I did an anti-tank gun flanked by a panzer. You seem to have a fairly good grasp on modelling. Keep it up.

Hey Kenny, sorry for the late reply...I was going thro my old posts and came across your post...for the base u can use a 1.5 - 2 dollar picture frame, take out the mirror and apply a coat of plaster of paris to simulate ground work...this is the easiest method I have found so far (I will post pics of my new dio in a few days where I will give step by step guide to do this with pictures)..for the MIG pigments even I had a tough time initially and if u google it you will get more confused with the different options given...this is what I do - I apply a thin coat of pastel fixative on the area where the pigments have to go, before applying this make a paste with few drops of water and pigments ready, once u have applied the pastel fixative apply the paste of the pigment on the area...it will dry in few minutes, once dry use a stiff brush to blend the pigments and take off excess from the model.....hope this helps
