Hi ppl,
My name is Paul, I`m new to building models and this is my 1st real attempt at doing something like this. I used to build models as a kid but never did the painting or anything like that. I work at the company that post out the sam publications magazines which i would guess a few of you buy. I look through the mags and some of the stuff is amazing and wanted to have a go. I used a photo frame for the base, Wilkos cheap polyfiller for the mud and snow build, Dead plants and a few lumps of lime stone out the garden and last of all baking powder for the snow effect. I really enjoyed building this and learnt alot.
Any comments or suggestions to give me ideas or improve upon what i have done are welcome

You have to click on the picture icon beside the linked thumbnail in the gallery this gives you the HTML code which you then copy and paste into your post.
Tank looks good but pics are a bit dark. Can you shoot them against a neutral background- a sheet of white or blue card?
For your first outing into dioramas you chose probably the most difficult subject- snow.
I would leave out the greenery, it doesn't really work. The other thing that looks odd is the bare ground in front of the tank the snow should meet the tracks no? Overall though- very good work.

Hey Paul, looks good. I'd leave the greenery in, but maybe cover it up a bit more. The snow should cover underneath the tank, even if its following another vehicle and the track ruts are clear, on that note you might want to try sinking the tank into the mud just a bit to imply weight, but that can wait till round two, right?
The only other thing I can say is watch the clothing on the comander, he looks a bit shiny. Not a big deal, and easily fixed with some flatcoat but it is something top be careful of.
I like this, more snow would really help it *pop* I think. Good job and keep it up!

Yes it is a tamiya
For the snow i used baking powder sprinkled onto klear, then used hairspray on top to stick any loose bits.
Thanks for the comments ppl, much appreciated and taking a note ready for the next go .

nice but when i fought in the ardennes with my company of Shermans, we did not see any tigers, king tigers, panzers, panthers, or halftracks with green paint. good job though-the elderly.
