stanley
are you going to be at the IPMS nationals in Telford at the weekend?
as there will be plenty of vendors with compressors for sale, so you can actually look before you buy. I also have a Ripmax compressor for sale as I have recently started using an Iwata one, which I can bring along if your interested.
cheers

One thing I noticed when I bought one is that some compressors are a lot more expensive than others. The well known airbrush brands' models, even quite small can be £250 - 300. I have one that looks a lot like the one on the ebay page you linked to: this one Mine actually cost about £80, but I have seen similar in the LHS for about £140. I think these things are probably being churned out at some factory in China and then being sold as various brands - mine doesn't seem to have a brand name at all. It does however work very well, has adjustable pressure, moisture trap, and as pointed out above, has a tank so that you get a constant pressure rather than pulsing as the piston goes up and down. Sorry I can't remember where I bought mine from (mail order) but as I say, it is a generic make so I went with the lowest price I could find, and it wasn't as cheap as that one on ebay!

Hi
Here is mine, brought from Everything Airbrush. Works a treat. It's worth stumping up the extra for one with a tank on, stops fluctuating air and the compressor doesn't run all the time, coming on when the pressure drops to a certain level, back off when up to pressure. Not too noisy either.

As been said before, there are lots of these for sale from various outlets with different names on but basically just the same compressors.
The rise in Nail Art means there are more and more of these being sold daily. Everything Airbrush told me they sell three to four times as many for that purpose than modelling etc. You might even get a bargain second hand from some lady who has decided its not the business for them.
