Hi Guys,
I don't know too much about the PTO but having moved to Oz recently am fast becoming more interested. I was looking for PTO sherman ref pics to model one of the tanks in my stash and came across the following excellent resource:
History link 101 USMC pics
The field mods added to Shermans on Iwo Jima and Okinawa are particularly interesting and i'd like to learn more about these in order to add some to my own build.
In particular I am very keen to get more info on a photo that I can only describe as Sherman 'Shurzen' which would make a very interesting model.
If anyone has further pics and/or info i'd greatly appreciate it.
Also any info on Shermans and their camouflage on Okinawa would also be of interest.
Cheers guys,
James

M4 fitted out in an Army ordnance yard on Okinawa in 1945. From Concord's #7004 "Tank Battles of the Pacific War 1941-45"

Another great picture thanks Ales!
They are some really mean looking shermans.
This looks like an M4 Hybrid hull, i've also seen M4A2 small hatch hulls in pics and what are either M4A2 large hatch or M4A3's (can't see engine deck/rear plate's sufficiently).
Any more info on these 'Okinawa monsters'?
Thanks,
James
