Cool concept. Realising that you still have much you haven't finished, here are my thoughts thus far:
The wire cutter offers the up gunner no protection.
The round bar, or whatever it is, isn't going to secure those fuels cans. They will bounce underneath and fall out. I assume there's more to that though.
Similarly, that drum is going to roll back and forth, wreaking havoc.
And from an up gunner's point of view, moving the entire gun platform forward allows you to depress the weapon system more and still clear the top edge of the windshield, especially shooting at targets at a lower elevation, as is often the case in Afghanistan.
A strong man stands up for himself; A stronger man stands up for others.
Admit nothing. Deny everything. Make counter-accusations.
He is not Khan who calls himself Khan. Afghan proverb

Thanks for the feed back guys, still a lot of work to do on this but i have taken your input on board and I am going to make some changes here and there on the build, also had an idea to mount a trail bike on the back of the mog but not sure how i will do it yet? I would also like to find some better tyres for it as the kit one are rubish..

Awesome to see so many excellently modeled details, but I have to agree, my first thought was that drum isn't secure-- the bar is bending and will soon let go (whether that's modeled to look realistic or if the model bar is actually straining).
The subject is really cool, and you've got a great start. Can't wait to see more as it progresses!
The pic of the Belgians reminds me of a saying I think my Dad used on ships, something like "one hand for you and one for Country"-- since each is holding his weapon with only one hand, and steadying himself with the other.
A good Armistice Day/ Veterans Day to everyone,
Sean.

Not decided yet? think GPMG on the front passenger side and on the rear somewhere? and I am toying with the idea of a mini gun on the gun mount on the top?

Scott
Great looking Mothership. I love it a better kit for a start will be welcome but you decided to use this one no big deal.
I will put the wire cutter in the middle.
Ditto for the jerrycans please check my last M1078 SF build for the jerrycan racks.
The bars diameter is too big.
Can you improve the seats of the cabin they are so bad.
And are you going to put seats on the rear bed ???
Do you have the Pelicase from PAM ??
I hope to see more of your build.
Any question send me a PM
Cheers

Hi Scott,
I love all the SF vehicles and yours is great. I am sure you´re copying the Belgian SF type. By any chance, do you know if they use it already in the field? I´ve seen pictures of the real truck, but only from a parade.

Hay gang, for some reason I randomly tool this build off the self today and stared to do some work on it?
I have reconfigured it a bit this is probably not the final set up but it is close.

The problem I have now is what to do about the seats? Anyone got any ideas?

Hey! Our old friend the Unimog is back from the holidays! Glad to see him again.
No ideas on the seats, but don't forget to get those seams off the tires!

Scott, glad to hear it! I thought that ignoring those tire seams was a pretty rudimentary mistake. Carry on!
