AJ,
Well done, sir!
You've done an excellent job on this little kit, which is actually pretty good considering it's age, or at least the earlier M1 version is.

Jan, Neil and Jeff, thank you for your comments and for taking the time to post them. I must admit that building this was quite the adventure. I never realized how much research it could take to build this old kit.
Jeff, I fear that there was a foul up at the show. I entered the M1 in The Nato vehicles category but no prizes were awarded in it. I and several other entrants in the category approached the judges after the awards ceremony about this and they were flustered to say the least. There were also two other categories that had entrants, including Nato ships, where no prizes were awarded despite there being entries in them. The chief judges final comment after offing half a dozen lame excuses was that these things occationally happen and the best they can do is offer their sincerest apologies! This was my first ever show and it leaves a bad impression in my mind.
One last point, the vendors had about half a dozen 1/72 Hasegawa M1s for sale for $7.00. I knew nothing about the kit so I didn't buy any. Besides, I still have an AMT M1 that I might do next.
Regards,
AJ
