I believe there is nothing to talk about the BTR-70, many have appeared here.

I started this model for fun, until the arrival of the set of the engine, for use in the MAZ.

A long time ago I made a conversion kit from Revell for the ambulance version, the kit was purchased from another modeler, with many pieces missing, others were made extemporaneously, without a secure source of literature.

I did not like the result. The good thing was that I created an admiration for the BRT-70 APC.

Now with a little more references, I started another model, this time a Dragon kit, I could see where the best quality plastic, compared to Revell.

Looking quickly, I noticed that is the same mold used by Revell.

Seeking to improve the details, I will use a set of EP (Edward)

and a set of wheels Miniarm.

comparing ...

This drawing views will be my main reference found on the internet, seems to have been taken from a Russian publication.

I would like to have the assistance of all, suggestions and criticisms are always welcome.

Regards,

Mano

Starting the construction ...

The bottom of the body is very simple, without many details, with some errors especially at the rear.

With the help of plastic sheets, and Plastruct profile, I began to enjoy myself.

After much cut and paste, I came to this result ...

Now I am working on detailing the suspension, adding the torsion bars and other details

During construction, I will posting the news.

Mano

Great start and nice scratched underside of the vehicle!

Because of work commitments, I can not dedicate myself as I wanted.
The new features are these:

With the aid of pieces of Sprue I closed the holes in the kit...

After the glue dried, I applied the "putty" and I finish, I tried not to remove the marks of the weld bead.

Build a piece to put on the water inlet opening of the propellant. It was not like in the real vehicle, but I think it improved the appearance of the model

Without it would be a void.

I glued the sides where they will access hatches, and did some more details.

Thank you all for follow. I remember that suggestions and criticisms are welcome

Best regards

Continuing with the model construction...

Looking for reference material I have, I noticed that the opening of the windshield was a little exaggerated, I decided to work better new openings, the result so far is this ...

As I intend to leave some of the access doors to the engine compartment open, I created a false bottom that will be painted matte black.

I'll leave some open hatches, which certainly will let you see inside the vehicle, and to not get that empty painted black, I'm building some key components that can be seen, I have no idea of doing anything too detailed, only the most important details.

I appreciate the suggestions.

greeting mano....

that as an impressive work...your work is much more better than what i did with my zvevda's kit 2 years ago....
your scratchbuilding interier was magnificent...mine is just like a toy...

if u interested to look at my build, then Clicky

Dragon's kit are much more superior than zvevda's. I noticed the hinges for the hatches is not moulded on the hull as what zvevda did..and it;s a toy like hinges..
i havents seen any dragon's btr-70 on progress build..so i will keep my eye on your build....
looking forward to see your build.... the eduard PE set really enhanced this kit....

here's a link to BTR-70 workaround photos that aided me on my build= Click ME

Zaidi,

Thanks for the compliment about my work, this is the third BTR70 I build, the first was a Revell, Zvezda was the second, I learned a lot from them.

The three kits are identical, the same mold I believe. Regarding the hinges they are the same as the other kits, what I did was to remove and close the holes. See the photos of the procedure.

When first built, kit Revell, about two years ago, I took your topic as reference.

Thanks for the links.

Yesterday morning and now I made a few more details, my focus was on the front seats, the dashboard support and the tower.

The front seats, I made a change in position, put the open driver's and passenger's in normal position and did the same thing for individual seat behind the driver and passenger ...

I adjusted and glued a piece of plastcard, where the future will be pasted dashboard and few things more ...

In the tower redid the optical sight, I opened the holes of the cannon and machine gun ...

At the moment things are well ...

A happy Christmas to all and a prosperous new year ...

More innovations, the interior is almost ready, place small details missing, such as electrical wiring, I'm pleased with what I did today, instrument panels, boxes of ammunition and other details, see the photos...

Through openings is possible to see some detail of the interior ...

I also did a test with solder tags ...

This is a superb job on the interior so far. I guess you'll have most of the hatches open to enable the viewers having a look at it. Otherwise it would be a pity

Olivier,

I thought about what he said, and the solution I found was to leave the turret removed, and has also increased the opening in the hull.

The problem is that I will have to detail the turret also, the principle would only make the gunner's seat, after what I've done I think it will be easy.

The new opening seen from the outside and then from the inside ...

Inside of the turret, but without a detailed arms

The turret embedded in his place, seen from the outside and the inside.

I think it was good ...
