Also, I saw a couple lurking around on the local hobby shop shelves this weekend too. There's still hope of getting it - for who's seeking it out...

Gunnie--this has nothing to do with the subject at hand, how are you coming on your M-24? I am up to the step where the figures are placed in the cab. Debating, based on our discussion sometime ago, whether to put them in or not. I assume you are not going to populate your project with the "little people."
thanks

I completed my M25 Dragon Wagon back in 1998 DJ - I'm not presently engaged in building one now I chose not to populate my DW with the Little People either when I built it though. At that time, there was so much extra detailing and work I put into it that the crew lost appeal for me.
Maybe if I revist the model - I'd feel differently. Are you going to 'populate' your rendition of this tank transporter?

Gunnie--I am going to compromise and place the driver and TC in the vehicle. Do you have photos of the M-26 you built avaiable? I have the MMiR article which clarified several positioning questions for me. Rob gave me some worthwhile advice about the M-26 construction "take it one step at a time." I have been following that bit of sagacious advice.

Just a question, but why would you want the old Italeri Dodge when the Skybow kits are around? Or did you want the anti-tank back end to put on the Skybow kit?

Thank you! As I was building a "fresh" DW - new in country, I went with newer tools too. Instead of painting them OD - I wanted that "new pine" look.
Airbrushed Tamiya Flat Black. Mask the "metal" portions with Scotch Tape, and then airbrush the "wood" with Tamiya Desert Yellow. Let dry, then made up a wash of Raw Umber oil and Turpenoid. Applied to the wood, let sit two hours (depending on how warm it is in the room) and remove with a brush dampened in Turpenoid. This streaking simulates wood grain quickly and easily...

Gunny, what a masterpeice that DW + M18 is! I sure hope I find the patience to do half as good a job on my DW. Haven't started mine yet as I still need to work on my skills. I plan to load mine with an M26 Pershing(maybe). Your website will help when I finally start on the DW.

I just wanted it for the AT action. Hadn't really considered using the Skybow kit as the vehicle though...hmmm. Now I'm thinking a different game plan. The Skybow kit is miles ahead of the ole Italeri. I will have to scour my reference material,so I could adapt the AT for use in the SB.
We are talking about the newly released M37 3/4 ton WC, right?

Uh-uh - you want the Skybow WC-51 - oft-called "Beep" for this conversion.

Back in the day, they were painted OD overall. Today they are normally off-the-shelf condition (that is the shovel you get issued will look like it just came out of the hardware store.)The metal portions of US tools were paintedd flat black, or left natural?

Geez, go figure. Ever hear that your first guess is the correct answer? Well I thought that too, but couldn't remember the name "Beep". So I went to Greatmodels to look at their Skybow kits and they don't show the Beep WC51 version. So, knowing it was a 3/4 ton, I just took the only 3/4 version GM had to offer.

It's alright Ken - you DO want the Skybow M37 3/4-tonner - you DO want to convert it into a Gun Truck - you DO want it as soon as it is released like the rest of us softskin freaks - M37's are your friend...
