hi, I'm new here
I got back into modeling about a year ago and decided i was going to make my first diorama with a 1/48th KV-1 i got for my birthday
I was hoping that someone would know how to make grass to go in it cause I'm on a bit of a budget

If you live near to a music shop ask them if they will keep any old bow strings for you as they are good for clumps and long grass.

For a bit higher grass, hemp is a good product.
It's used for sanitary insulation and it should not cost a lot in your DIY shop.
I used it here:

Old paint brushes work well any size. For 1/48th scale you'll need to cut the grass pretty short as a base, then longer for clumps and variation.
Claude's hemp suggestion is great. I've used it and it effective and cheap.

I found this on youtube and tried it:
