Sorry if this is old news but I just saw that Academy has a "New Tooling" M1151 listed in it's 2011 catalog!

Awesome news!
If this ends up being anything like their recent CV90 release in terms of quality and accuracy then we should be on to a winner, c'mon Academy, dont let us down!

I wonder if "New Tooled" refers to the WHOLE kit or just the parts for upgrading their old Humvee to a M1151?

Totally new tooled I hope, if its just the old kit upgraded then its bad news, because their original humvee kit was far from good, the dimensions where wrong and it was very poorly detailed. They really need to start from fresh with this.

Haha this is awesome! Its a damn good time to be a armor guy that's for sure. I sure hope it comes with that covered OGPK and new wheel and tire tread like in that photograph.

It can be a new tool, but probably is based on old kit incorrect dimensions. They did the same with their M151 series - they made 100% new tooling, but based it partially on their old copy of Tamiya kit, so new kits inherited some flaws and inaccuracies of Tamiya kits...
I personally plan to keep my Legend conversion for the time being and wait for Bronco inevitable future release.

that's some great news indeed...
anyway who cares about the dimensions.? I suppose this kit is going to be waaay cheaper than any resin conversion out there, so using the academy kit as donor for the m1151 parts and getting a tamiya or bronco hmmwv as base seems sound, eh?
besides that, could it be that academy and bronco "crossed molds" on this one? (thinking of that dubious m1151 picture on (or inside) the bronco box)
Cheers, Max

Great news....one can't have enough Humvees. Given Academy's recent releases I'd expect a pretty decent Humvee this time round.

Its an M1114 Frag 5 drawn on the white box in the Bronco kit. And if Academy cock the dimensions up then the parts wont fit the Tamiya kit, but anyway we havent eve see the kit yet so...
