Hi all, I am building the trumpeter K72 and have found a few problems. First and foremost there is no link between the transmission and the engine!? I am an amateur builder, but even I know that’s not right

I don’t get a whole lotta time to build these days, so I have been jumping around the manual a bit. The other hassle is the transmission doesnt even line up with the hole in the firewall. I am after ideas, what as everyone else done with it? Have I missed it? Or did the Germans have a 'wireless' system in development

Does anyone have a picture of a real King Tiger drive train through the firewall for reference?

Cheers all,

I probably should've included a pic to explain it a bit better. The Yellow Circle is where there is a gap between the tranny and the firewall. The Blue Circle is a rectangle hole in the fire wall. Did I miss something in the manual here as well? Having a hole of this size in a firewall kind of defeats the entire purpose of a 'firewall'

Cheers!

Hi

Don't have any answers personally but Ian Hill's superb build of this may give the information you need, or help with detailing the kit beyond what Trumpeter supply.

http://www.planetarmor.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5967

A condensed version of the gun part of the build has been published on this (the armorama) site as well.

Hope its of some help and inspiration.

Cheers for the reply Alan, That was exactly what I was after. A professional build with such detail. After searching through it all he has run into the same probs. I guess when you are that good at it you done need to worry about that sort of thing

The build went straight to the book marks. Given me loads of great ideas what to do with my build. Thanks mate.
