If your looking for help designing and creating interesting dio's I'd reccomend Sheperd Paines excellent but older book : How to Build Dioramas. Helps with layout, design etc. Try searching for images of half-tracks online, you'll find many. There are also many articles available about constructing bases and buildings, many here on Armorama.
As well you can try one of the diorama kits, there are many sources from resin to vacuum molded from Mini-art.
Best of luck.

Last year I built the exact same kit and placed it in a dio. I'm in the process of moving so I cant take any pictures. Basically, I placed it at a MP checkpoint next to a 4-way intersection with a soldier manning the MG and an officer standing with his foot on the bumper. It turned out great. One thing to be sure of is the version you want to build. I think there are 4 different mods you can choose from. Based on that, you can brain storm dio ideas.

Thanks guys
Eric, I'm not to bad at building the dios its more so the setting to make it realistic, combat or non-combat.

I have tried to get hold of Shep's book but have been unsuccessful to get my hands on it.

I really want to place a building in it somewhere, and have looked into various ones.

I'll update when I've decided on the setting.

Cheers

First off I'd recommend this figure set...
Us Armored infantry

Have them looking for cover amongst some ruins...
An autumn 1944 urban setting would suit this well, like a well bombed out French town...

I like to base my dioramas on actual photographs…

Here are a few that could serve as very interesting subjects for a diorama.

Bombed out French village;

Don’t know where this is, but it’s loaded down…

If you want to build a post-war M3, check out these M3’s that were converted into fire fighting vehicles;
