Do you mean the Mrap II Caiman? or what ever you want to call it.

Caimen II Mrap photo link

I suggest you use the 1/35 trumpeter LMTV cargo truck. 1/35LMTV kit link What your going to have to do is scratchbuild a cab like the secend truck in this photo with a longer body and mover the body back a bit., or extend the front a bit as you can see in the IED hit link. Oh and your going to have to buy two kit so you will have the secend axel. Now I don't know it Trumpeter has produced there new heavy armored cab LMTV kits': http://spruebender.net/forum2/index.php?topic=782.0

Here's an over view photo of the long body MRAP II Caiman.

An here's a link full MRAP II Caimans and one's under chassis view after IED hit:
IED hit MRAP Caiman in Iraq

Good luck with this build man.

The Caiman MRAP series is based on the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV). The LMTV provided the basis for the 4x4 variants, while the MTV provided the basis for the 6x6 variants. The monocoque hull owes much to the design of the Low Signature Armored Cab (LSAC) designed for the FMTV series.

Hi Frank,

Trumpeter produces the M1078 4x4 FMTV and has annonced the M1083 6x6 FMTV. So there is a great chance they would also produce the CAIMAN. Wasn`t there a rumor that some members of the MRAP family are planned for 2010 or 2011? I personally think we could expect such stuff from China or Korea.

I would personally love to see the Caiman be released. I used one overseas as well as a Maxxpro. Ive already bought some after market kits such as a rhino, duke antennaes, etc so whenever it did come out I would be able to reproduce my beloved 35 mike.

Im waiting for the Maxx Pro Plus to come out in a kit so I can build my Nighthawk 1-2. MND-B 101 EnBn 2009 -2010 at VBC. I want to build a dio of the convoy staging area at Camp Liberty when I was there

I would think if someone built the Maxx Pro, that upgrading to a Maxx Pro Plus could be done with very few aftermarket parts. A little bit of plastic and brass sheet to make the MEAP armor, change the single rear wheel to a set of duals, and some truck boxes for the back door should be enough to make it a convincible Plus model.

I know the Maxx Pro is overdue (other projects got in the way) but give it oh, two months, three at the outside, and you can do the Plus version on y6our own if you like.
