More specifically, 2 is a Magach 6B GAL, note the larger 'doghouse' for the Gunner's sight and different sight windows, also Merkava style tracks and idler. The 7A is also just known as the 7 I believe.

Hello Jim
Thank you , I always thought 1 is magach6, 2 is magach6B.
So do I understand this.
magach6 series using the M60 turret?

Magach 1,2,3 and 5 series =M48
Magach 6 series = M60A1 or A3
Magach 7series = M60A0 aka M60 "Vanilla"
M60A0 turret superficially resembles an M48 turret but there are slight differences.

Hi Blackwater,
I built the 1/35 6B GAL (Not Batash) using the base Academy and Legend set last year and it was quite an involved build. I also did a full written build article on the subject intending to have it published in a magazine but due to being messed about by the publisher /editor it never came off.
Anyway, if you think it would be of use to you (and build the 6B GAL instead) please contact me and I can let you have the build article as well as some detail pics of the finished model?
If you look at my profile, you will be able to see the model pics which are showing as build article - 6B GAL.

Magach 7A is M60A1/A3 conversion, Magach 7C is M60 with old turret similiar to M48 turret.
Magach 7D is as I believe other name for Magach 6B Gal-Batash, it is also sometimes called Magach 8.
There was also interim model, Magach 7B.

You sure? I know from Israeli tankers that served on Magach's that 7C was a tight lady due to that old turret, no complains on 7A though, so I supposed that 7A have M60A1/A3 turret.

Sorry, you are wrong. The 7A and 7C use the same base tuuret that of the M60A0. This is a 7A.
Rear of turret.
The M60A1/A3 ventilator is on the other side of the turret.

Thank you Gary and Jim.
The No. 1 picture is of the M60A3TTS known in IDF asMagach 6Gimel (or C).
It is with round original basket, and US continues thermal sleeve. It is NOT the Magach 6B Gal.
for some order in the Magach 6XX family, here is a small familiarization list"
1. Magach 6 - M60slik, as arrived from the US. T97 tracks, M19 cupola, no blazer, round turret veny cover on the left. Aluminum wheels.
2. Magach 6R - same as 1 but with Blazer ERA, new modified engine, stabilization to thr traversing and elevation. partial are with Merkava tracks, enlarged basket on turret rear.Low profile Urdan cupola, replaced the M19.
3. Magach 6Mem - same as 2 but with cross wind sensor mast and IDF thermal sleeve.
4. Magach 7 - this is a Magach 6Mem (M) with a massive armor suite on turret and hull, with side skirts.
5. Magach 7Gimel (or C) - same as 4, but with reshaped turret armor, more as an arrow head.
All these are round turrets, and derivatives of the M60
6. Magach 6Alef (or A) - this is a long turreted M60A1 as supplied from the US, with T97 tracks and aluninum road wheels,
7. Magach 6Bet - this is the M60A1E2 RISE tank with already installed stabilization kit in the turret. still with US round turret basket in the rear, T142 tracks and Blazer ERA suite installed upon arrival.
8. Magach 6Bet Gal (wave) - this is an improved Magach 6Bet, with GAL FCS and Merkava tracks + rectangular rear basket. In Some, wheels replaced to M48 all steel wheels.
9. Magach 6B GAL Batash - this is #8 with a heavy suite of new armor.
10. Magach 6 Gimel (M60A3) (see above)
All 6-10 are with long turret and are M60A1 derivatives
Hope it clears in a way

Hi Blackwater,
As requested, I have emailed you the pics and the build article.
As mentioned in my article, the "Desert Eagle" M-60 6B GAL book by Michael Mass is an invaluable reference for building this kit as indeed are all the fabulous IDF books in this book range.
I have included the ISBN number should you want to buy a copy to build your own GAL.
Cheers!

Hay I need to ask somthing. Is the "Magach 7(A) based on a Centurion chassis or use of the centurion suspension? OOOO Sorry I just found that in fo in my HC IDF armoured vehicles book,(Page 90). I see that it's on the full US M60 chassis and wheels. Now the tracks look like Merkava Mk. II tracks but that what they look like in both my IDF HC book and my Osprey SC books.
Now I plan on building eather the Magach 7A of 2002 of the Magach 7C of 2000. The Magach 7A of 2002 near the Palestinian city of Tul Karem. And the Magach 7C of 2000 in the Negev Desert.
