Toby, my first thought on seeing the picture of this beast was, "...and what scale is this?" Then I looked up at the top of the page and saw that I was in the Braille scale forum! Positively superb; period.

Cheers,

Hi

Nice work done with your tank! I like it very much.

Because i´m very interessted of vehicles from

iraqi wars. Also i like the stowage. Sweet colors. The belts you add are very

special and take the model up to a higher level. I use the same withe the bags of

my M1A2 Abrams.

Greetings and happy modelling! Daniel

Hi Toby

thats a nicely finished model. Small details like the vision blocks and the way you did the chains really set it off

cheers

Very nice work. The extra stowage really blended very well on the vehicle.

Sometimes when I place a bedroll on a model it just wont fit there, but in your they look just right.

Toby,

Excellent M60! The paint and weathering are top notch. The stowage is very realistic. Other than the chains seeming a little over scale to me, your model looks like it could be 1/35 scale.

These pictures from Prime Portal appear to show that the lower front glacis ERA blocks are not installed when the TWMP in mounted, since it would seem to interfere with the mounting points. Also, there are ERA blocks removed just forward of the headlights for the same reason.

Please note that in the above image, there isn't an ERA block installed over the telescopic/binocular gunsight bulge.

This appears to be a M60 that was damaged by a mine and probably had the TWMP removed, but it does show the mounting points on the front of the hull (note the TWMP Mine Tilt-Rod "Dog Bone" on its chain):

Just trying to help...

Thanks again to those who gave comments. They inspire me to do better in my next projects

@ Jeff Thank you for the photos. I wonder why I didn't see these photos when I was looking for reference pix. Those block in front of the headlights removed would have made my M60 look better.

Re the chains, they were the finest I could find in Manila. There are no model railroad shops here and the finest available is by Tiffany & Co. A 24" silver chain there is the equivalent of 20 Revell 1/72nd armour kits

Lastly, I had originally planned to exclude the blocks under the front hull. Sadly, there was a gap so wide between the hull and the TWMP a braille tanker figure would fit perfectly Thus the need to install the ERA blocks and hoped no one would notice I do however appreciate all your comments and feed back.

Really nice work Toby. When I first looked at it, I assumed it was the Tamiya kit in 1/35 scale. I even mumbled to myself "I should get one of these". Apart from the overscale chain, it looks fascinating.

Super paint job. At first glance I thought that the dark colour on the rubber of the wheels looked too uniform but after seeing the actual vehicle pictures that Jeff provided it looks like your painting is quite correct. Love all the extra cluttter on the turret.

Regards,
AJ
