A few pictures of my rendition of the AZM Engineers vehicle.
I purchased an old SP Designs amz full resin kit quite a few years ago ,and decided to build it up earlyer this year .
Unfortunately the castings were very poor so i used a Skiff mtlb kit and copied all the modifications from the resin kit and put them on the Skiff kit.
I did however keep and use the excavator arm and bucket from the kit as this was really good.
The dozer blade up front, i had to scratch up from styrene as the kit one was too warped to use but i did manage to salvage the rams from the kit.
The painting was airbrushed freehand with paints from humbrol.
I am in the process of changing the Skiff rubber tracks for a set of Fruils .

Hi Roy,
once again you have a winner here ! You did justice to this really interesting vehicle.
Concerning the Friul tracks, I think you already know that they come with two sprockets so you could have to remove the Skif ones first.

I guess this is an "exhibition" vehicle as the blade is really clean

You really have done a nice job with the kit Roy. I prefer a "dirtier" vehicle myself, but that is personal taste.

My question to you is do you have any good photos/resources for this vehcile. I have about 6 photos and that is it.

Here are some pictures from my collection that I would like to share with everyone. It's hard to believe how hard it is to find anything on this vehicle, most of these came from other searches I've done, just happen to stumble onto them.

I notice that SP Designs no longer lists this kit on their website. Are the molds being reworked so the kit will be released in the future?

That would be great, but in that case they will wait for the Trumpeter MT-LB which has not been released yet.

Cheers,

Christophe

Ok. I was not aware Trumpeter had planned to release an MTLB kit.
I personally do not know the reason for why the SP Designs kit was de-listed.

So if Trumpeter plans a new kit, I guess maybe we can expect a resin conversion in the future from SP Designs or maybe Trumpeter will release an combat engineer variant ? One can only hope.

Sergej puts kits OOP when he gets all the pulls out of the rubber that he can and he does not expect any more sales. Casting kits is expensive if they just sit on a shelf and gather dust in his stock.

Yes, Sergej is keeping an eye on the Trumpeter MT-LB release, but he does not want to make a resin conversion for a kit that Trumpeter will come out with either.

Frankly, I'm convinced Trumpeter will never do that variant, they will have several versions of the MT-LB but not that one. Even recovery versions are more likely than engineer versions and Trumpeter haven't done any ARV variant of the T-72, BMP-3 or BMP-1.

Cheers,

Christophe

All the photos Sergej used are available on the internet. He did not have much for sources, from what I understand. There are more pictures out now than there have been. There just is not much out there for resources on this vehicle.
