Hay I'm looking for any info on who will make or has made a model on the 2009 USS New York(LPD-21)? Now I know I can Scratchbuild one but I would love to have a kit of it. I have found info on the real thing: Wiki Info Link

I must say I tried asking a question on that forum and never got an answer, and mu question was a general comparison between the quality of ship kits by Trumpeter and Bronco... nothing specialized or anything.
Sorry to say I did not get a good impression of the members on that forum as far as helping others.
This is just the general impression that I got... which I have to say is a first for me. I've found people on all other sites here to be very helpful and welcoming

Wwooo "WHAT" 1/96 LPD-17(($ 650.00)) and the hull shiped is only 175.00. Well Scratchbuilding is right in order. That's a big rip off for any one that has low scratchbuilding skills.
An like Hisham said he got no answer on that fourm. What you guys don't like ships here? I feel like "Hisham" that this forum is the better forum to ask for help. An I got it.
Thanks guys for your help and to Maxymilian thanks but that price it just way to high for me man.
I'm going to "FedEx" my self to my desk and scratchbuild that baby. I plane on building it at a length of 28 2/4" long. I don't how tall it will be untill I start the build.
But thanks guys for all the help. I have those long Styrene sheet for the hull build. If any of you are like me and may be thinking of scratchbuilding it., the sheet codes you may want to start looking for is 9102,03 and 04 for the .015",.020" and .030" thick sheets. These long sheets are not as long as what I will be building but there more than half of the 28" length that I will be working with. Here's a link to EverGreen and scroll down to the White Sheets-Economy Packs section for prices. Evergreen scale models Link

Maybe Cyber Hobby will do one soon. I'm tempted to get their new trimaran "littoral combat ship" USS Independence just for a change.

You can get Trumpeter's 1/350 Independence for less money than Dragon's 1/700 kit. I've been thinking about getting it, too. It looks really cool and will make a nice change.

Model Shipwrights is not a less friendly site it is just quieter than here which is I believe the busiest of all the sites. If members on the shipwrights site have the answer you will get it but it sometimes takes longer.

This would certainly make a very cool looking kit, too!! I hope Trumpeter, or one of the other manufacturers, gets interested in making one.

The mention on 300 PE parts in one of the reviews puts me off....All the flight deck tie-downs are in PE!
