ok this has probly been asked before but I couldnt find anything in the 20 so pages I went back on, so here goes. has anyone ever used the salting tech to weather ? if you have how did you go about it an did you find any problems with useing such a tech? as well were you pleased by the overall effect once you were done ?

Don't use table salt for this technique. I did it for my KV-1 and it turned out to be a mess. The salt almost melted leavingthis white film that will not come off the model. I tried stripping and repainting...nothing, the spots show through.

I had the same experience as Jeff using table salt on my M577. It turned out bad and can't be repaired.

what salt would you guys say is wise to use? SS-74 good ole davidus said pretzl salt was one to use.. but would sea salt or rock salt work as well ?

IIRC, FSM used sea salt on thier model.
