Hey Guys,
I've been searching over the www for a conversion kit or possibillitys for the Leopard 2 PSO. But I coudnt find anything suitable maybe some of you guys have a clue where to look.
This is the example that I would like to go with:
Leopard 2 PSO
I'm sadly enough not much of a scratch builder. But if you guys have a good suggestion?
Cheers Remi

Hi Remi,
I don`t think we will see the PSO in plastic or resin. Since it is "only" a demostrator of what can be done with the venerable Leopard 2. Perhaps we will have more luck when the current Leopard 2 A7 will be fielded with the Bundeswehr.
Cheers

That new Leopard 2a7 is generally the same as the Leopard PSO it only seems to miss the dozer blade...
Need to keep my hopes up i guess i have this extra leopard 2a6 still standing without use

Hi Remi,
you can try to send a mail to Norman, maybe he can send to you some infos or dimensions or at least some photos of the wip stages.
He used the tamiya kit but now you can pick the HB one(more cheap) and try to do your own model.
I also love this version and I agree with Hans-Hermann about the the unlikely birth of a dedicated conversion
Cheers

Dear Remi,
honestly the Leopard 2 PSO and the Leopard 2A7+ have not too much in common. Just take a look at my website www.tank-masters.de and you find some good photo series of all versions.
Kind regards,
Ralph

Well looking at the added armor on the turret and hull i would say there is something in common. except for the exaust and some other details. But thanks any how. Just need to hope that someone at Hobbyboss gets a 'brainfart'. I believe it would be a cool addition to my leopard collection.

Hi guys,
I think you maybe interested in this:
http://shop.y-modelle.de/umbausatz-leopard-2-a7plus-p-430.html
It's a conversion to turn an HB kit into a Leopard 2A7 and from a first look it seems to resemble the pictures posted by Ralph above (I am no rivet counter).
BTW: is this tank any close to being operational? Is it for the Bundeswehr or offered for export?
Thanks,

Hello Nicola,
since KMW had shown many different configurations of the Leopard 2, right now nobody can say which version will be finally fielded in Germany. We also have a lack in fundings for weapons and the everlasting question "Do we need tanks at last?" doesn`t make me believe that there will be a Leopard 2 A7 with the Eisernes Kreuz on it. But only time will tell.

Hello Hans-Hermann,
Many thanks for the information. Maybe they will offer update packages that affect only specific pieces of equipment.
Only time will tell, you are right.

I'm planning on doing my own urban Leopard 2A5, I've decided to go with the shorter 44 calibre barrel as I figure it makes more sense in urban areas and instead of a remote weapon station I'm going to use components of the M1A1 Tusk kit like the Israeli style .50 cal machine gun mounted on the main gun. And I'm thinking of putting the ERA skirt armour on it too. I would like to mount a dozer blade with the capability of swivelling it left and right, but I have to figure out how to curve a piece of sheet styrene to the right profile to make a decent looking dozer blade, plus how to mount it to the tank.

Hallo, Alex,
can you, please, give some information about what you show?
It looks darn well! And it looks like a conversion set.
Looking forward to your explanations.

Hi pal,
This is the master created by the hobbyboss designer. In fact they have planned for sometime of this model. And I believe it will be released within this year. Pay attention to the dozer, i think many of us would find it the key element when talking about PSO.
Though the injection quality of hobbyboss is not as good, they do spend time to do the researches in some rare topics. And let's keep updated!
Cheers

Yeah that dozer blade is probably the best part, I don't understand why the back of tank is so long like that.

Thanks, Alex,
for the explanation. I hope HB will realize that kit.
I am sure it'll sell. The basics will be in the kit at least.
...and, yes, keep us updated.

So far I recall the new EURO-pack engine (smaller that the current one) is installed, additional armour for the engine compartment deck and rear to reduce mobility kills in urban surroundings, APU and I believe also Air-Con ? installed plus additional room for new electronic/ sensor components.
There is a extensive article in one of the Tankograd mags on this PSO version.
Cheers

Hi Christpher,
your partly right with your expression, the modified rear hull serves two purposes:
1. It contains a new concept of air intake and sound suppression. It reduces
greatly the risk that Molotov Cocktails set the engine on fire.
2. The thermal and acoustic signature is greatly reduced.
It`s good start from HobbyBoss, I only hope that they will include the FLW 200 Remote Weapons Station.

It is said that it will be release this year but I really wonder as the PSO version is not still finalized. Anyway, we stay tuned and let's see
