Will the Model Kasten's MK-SK-11 track set (T-72 / T-62 / T-55M) fit Tamiya's T-62?
Thanks

Rotmistrov,
They probably won't fit the sprockets, but Fruil Model has a set of T-72 sprockets you can mount, and then you'll be fine.
Cheers

Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't think T-72's and T-62's sprockets are interchangeable. In fact, they have different number of teeth.

It depends on the time period you'll plan to create your model. The early production vehicles had the same tracks as T-54/55 family. Later they received the same tracks as T-74 (with the same drive sprockets) with the rubber inserts in the hinges (sorry, I don't know the right english word for that type tracks). The same tracks presents at the late modifications of T-55 tanks (with additional armor or ERA blocks).

Thanks Lis. I'm going to build T-62 as of 1972.

Hm-m-m... For that time you must put your T-62 on the standart "old type" tarcks -- like the T-54/55 ones. The new ones appear somewhere in the 80-s.
Best regards

Lis, do you know what kind of drive sprocket and idler the early T-62 had? Was it the same as T-55's?.
Also when did they put DSHK machine gun on T-62? I heard that it took place somewhen in 1973, but when my uncle served in Turkestan in 1972 they had DSHKs on their 62's. I' m positive, I saw the pictures in his DMB album.
