G'day Matt. There where numerous marks of "carriers" in service in WII. They are often called Bren gun carriers as well as universal. If you go to Google Images and put in either name there are numerous pictures of WWII vehicles amongst all the images. Here's a link for a short walk around of a collectors restored mortar carrier in British markings.
http://www.armourinfocus.co.uk/ucarrier/index.htm
And if you look through the British Imperial War museum and Australian War Memorial websites there are some really good pictures, though it can take a bit of searching! A quick example on Aust. Memorial website:

If your interested in Australian carriers I have some sites, we made them here as well,as did Canada.
Thats all I can think of right now off the top of my head without searching through all my bookmarks!
Not quite sure what your after but hope that's of some help.
Cheers,
Tim

In case you're also looking for Bren Carrier walkaround pics, you'll find some on Maquetland.com :
http://www.maquetland.com/v2/index.php?page=photos&c=char
Just click on "telecharger" below the Bren Carrier thumbnails to download the pics in .zip format (but the link to the Beltring 2007 pics doesn't seem to work )

Here's a VERY complete walkround of the Universal Carrier (Canadian Mark II):
http://armorama.com//features/2256
Regarding modeling the Universal carrier. At the present moment, the ONLY option is the Tamiya one(s) unfortunately, they need so much work, you're talking some serious money in getting them right. The only game in town regarding improvement sets is Resicast who do everything you could possibly need...

I've been searching out photos of the universal carrier myself and given how many I found and that you can't locate any I have to ask- where did you look?

Universal Carrier Vol 1/2 by Nigel Watson are now available and cover every thing a modeler could need to make a great model of any version of these vehicles.
They are superb books
