Has any one got the new Trumpeter Faun Elephant yet?
I will be picking up mine this Saturday or Sunday. I just wanted some feed back on what they saw and what they think before I actually open it.

This is the kit that will have me leaving the Vietnam era for a while. I haven't got the kit yet but intend to very shortly. Tamiya's Dragon Wagon was a fun build but I think this one will be even more fun. If this kits proves to be as good as the reviews than I will mosst likely build the other two big truck kits that they offer.

I expect to get my Faun next week. From what I heard till now it is a great kit. It has some minor accuracy problems, but nothing that cannot be easilly fixed.
And please remember - this kit is not Elefant!!! This is lighter Faun Franziska. Elefant is 8x8 vehicle and can be easily recognized by its single headlights, while Franziska is 6x8 vehicle and has double headlights. Also remember that the trailer as it is in the model is 56 ton type, so OOTB it can be used for Leopard 2A4, but not 2A5!.

Actually the trailer appears to represent the 59 ton version, because the ramps are vertical when in the folded position. just add the brush guards on each shock absorber as shown at panzer-modell.de's In Detail page. I posted a question on Missing-lynx and was answered by Carsten Gurk himself

after looking over the instructions they show the ramps vertical, so that much is done
I just started mine last night and about the only thing I'm dissapointed with is the wheels on the #2 axle (the undriven axle) -the center hub is not very well detailed, but the driven wheels are beautiful.

Hi Pete,
I received my SLT59 about a month ago. I've already started its construction- and I must admit I have a lot of fun with it )
Vodnik is right- there are minor problems with accuracy and few mistakes in isntruction. But still I think this is a GREAT kit.
