Hi
All
I'm using Humbrol Matt White Enamel to do the white wash on a T-34/85. And was wondering how long do you guys usually wait in between coats?
The Humbrol website says 20 - 40 mins for touch dry and 24 hours for hard dry. So do you think 40 mins is good?
Thanks

Scott, the Humbrol matt white does seem to dry quite quickly, but I suspect you will be adding washes over the top of it. I'd leave it to dry overnight, or you might find it lifting when you overpaint.

Yes, i agree with Steve
I've read that the right time before doing the washing is at least 2 or 3 days
The enamel before 40 minutes seems dry but actually isn't completely cured
Is cured just the superficial coat. Under layers are still wet, so if you try to add washes you'll remove all the paint.
You can shorten time just using acrylics paint as base because the wash thinner doesn't dissolve the humbrol enamels

Hello,
I have used Humbrol for a long time, and my experience says to wait about 2 hours between coats when airbrushing and at least 48 hours before applying a wash directly on the enamel coat.
However if you apply a thin coat of acrylic varnish in about 4-5 hours it can help you avoid the long waiting time.
