Hi, I'm currently building (almost finnished) the Trumpeter PT76 model51, got it cheap, bought my first set of Fruils (wich where double the kitprice, but he, it was a holiday so I thought what the..)
The Question here is as follows

the 51 model had a differnet barrel then the model2 ,
can I get a AM barrel, the link on another topic didn't work
to make it a PT 76 model 2, not a PTb as this would mean having to raise the hull by 4mm approx,I think that there whare versions having the old hull and the newer barrel so an AM swap could alwyas be done after painting, but the problem is, where can I "locate" a PT 76 model51 for a dio, could I make a "African dio? desert? winter? where the old PT's reconversed or scrapped, or where they sold to "3rd world" country's?

I could not find answers after 5 hours of internettin' and scrolling forums, can anyone help?

These amphibious tanks begin to arrive at Cuba in the 70’s. A total of 60 serve in the Marines.
A Cuban PT-76 comes out the waters, in maneuvers. After a demonstration before the Soviet Leader Jrushov similar to this, this tank was adopted for the USSR

PT-76 1951 was used in Angola (by Cubans?) and in Laos. Also took part of the Warsaw pact ivasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968.

Never seen a pic with paint on the tank. Only rust . But considering other vehicles in Angola I'd say plain green.

Google is your friend.
A tip for finding pictures of Russian hardware is to use Cyrilic writing for the name of the vehicle your looking for. So try using 'ПТ-76' on Google images and you'll find this in less than 5 minutes:

A PT-76 with late style gun but not the elevated rear deck AND a cammo...

Good luck,
Marcel

thanks Juge75, I like the cammo's, but they are later types, I'd have to raise the hull, and add the specific details of that version.

I'll give it some time, maybe I will find a barrel to upgrade...

it won't run from the shelf , so I got some time

thanks
