I will be getting Tamiya's 1/35 Chieftain Mk5 soon, and I plan on building a diorama out of it and one other vehicle. What's a good piece of armor to use with it?

Yes, an ARV. They often needed to be towed
BTW not a Mk.5, more of a Mk 3

Well, unless you want to go into expensive resin kits, the AFV Club Scorpion or Scimitar light tank is the obvious choice (don't know if there were many Centurions still around by the time the Chieftain Mk. 3 was in service).
The Tamiya Land Rover kits (the Pink Panther, which doesn't actually have to be pink, if it isn't depicted in Aden, and the ambulance), are Series 2, 109" wheelbase versions built in the 1960's. The Italeri Land Rovers depict Series 3 versions built in the 1970's.
Friul finally released a set of metal tracks for the kit, and Eduard has a photoetch set, if you want to dress it up a bit.
The link provided below is Robert Lockie's very useful tweaks list for the Tamiya kit.
