Howdy Jeffry,
Do I take it from your post you are British?......I also get the impression you've already spent some time under Her Majesty's colours? If so, I appreciate your service, and your pride in Queen and Country.
As I have already said, I am also of British birth. My father served with the Royal Scots Guards ( he was born in Edinburgh) before serving with the USAAF. I served in the 'Corp '71 - '75. Neither my, or my father's experience (MOS) in the military was armour related. So, my observations of life in the 'Cavalry' have been somewhat limited. So I appreciate your personal comments about the 'security' of today's stowage in the Army. I must say, it gives me pause to think..............
Maybe one of our fellow Armorama brethren, who have served in the modern Armoured Corp, could enlighten us about the truth/non-truth of stowage 'mobility' as you put it?????????
Anyone?
Tread,
................is it a 'rule' thing, is it a 'convenience' thing, is it a 'laziness' thing, is it a 'security' thing,
Or is it just a left over habit from WWII days?
Curious in Denver. #:-)
