Gents,
I did a google search which didn't yeild much info, so I thought I'd ask directly. I am looking for info about these Tiger I tanks that were sent to the GrossDeutchland Batallion from Abt 500 for duty in Gumbinnen in 1944. Looks for pics and info about the tanks. Were they late production Tiger I's, types of wheels etc? Also, some had gas bottles on the rear decking, any pics of these?
TIA
Brad

Hi Brad!
I am not sure if these 'Stadgas' Tiger Ausf E's can be attributed as Tiger I's with Pz. Ers. Ausb. Abt. 500, but they do give a good idea of the mixed bag of vehicles that the unit could have ended up with, when seconding them from testing and training facilities, for use with ersatz front line units.
As you can see, there are a host of vehicles from various production months to depict, if you want a gas powered cat.
Sorry I cannot help much, hope you find some more info!
Cheers Phil.
