Looking for a REALLY good solution to making a 5th wheel on a tank transporter look realistic. There was a UN Faun in AFV mag (I think) a few years ago that looked amazing but the process was not discussed. Anyone have a great method? Cheers.

Hello Damon, you could use Artist's Acrylic Gel Medium. It is thick and comes in a tube, and it is white, but dries clear. It can be tinted with any acrylic paint to any shade you need. It does shrink up a little when drying but can be layered or built up as thick as needed. You can get it at any art supply or craft store, and it doesn't cost much. One tube goes a long way. I have used it for creating water effects on dioramas, as well as, I hate to admit, some 'blood splatters' on a few monster models . I found out about it from a fellow who used it to make icicles on a diorama. Hope this helps. Al (P.S.) To make the icicles he glued small pieces of thin nylon fishing line to the roof of a cave and then coated them with the Gel. When the gel dried the fishing line was invisible.
