Talk about a rough time. I got a very late start on my Engineering Campaign entry. Originally planned as a box-stock entry, I found fate had other plans. First, one of the headlight guards fell off the sprue to the deep reaches of never land. Then my wife's cat decided to play with the blade subassembly in a way that included chewing and losing pieces. But I'm bound and determined to get there.
Attack of the cat!
I decided to attempt to make the rear arm operable. I was successful then that fell apart when an errant drop of superglue made it solid again.
Replaced headlight guards
All said and done, I'm nearly ready to paint but I'm undecided. Its a nice, very well detailed kit, but the tools attached to each side of the hull leave a bit to be desired. All the nice detail and they seem flat and toy like. I'm tempted to sand them off for now and finish the build as though the tools have been removed. I don't foresee me having the time to scratch a full set of tools before the campaign ends. Your thoughts?

I'm in the Eng build as well (M48 AVLB), & I'm very concious of the deadline!
(pic & blog to follow IF it's finished!)

If you take the tools off, are you going to scratch the mounts?

I don't do braille scale, so don't know of any (if any) AM in 1/72-6th-ish..
I think ROCO did AM pioneer tools in 1/87, but these may be hard to find.

I have the this Revell Biber as well, so do blog!

Good luck

Hay guys I am thinking of extending the campaign a bit, as I am a behind on my build aswell so don't panic about the dead line.

If I don't, I'll never get it done!

I second that. I was getting focused on a Braille Battlefield build and nearly forgot the engineering campaign.

I think the tools are coming off. I know it will bug me to leave them. Might just build mounts as though they are removed for now. All my reference photos show them fully equipped, so typically I would expect them to be operating without a full tool kit.

The Extratech tools might help, but there are a few items (cable cutters) that will just need to be built to look right.
