I got my eye on Trumpeters PMC security detail figure set. I'm trying to build a diorama in my head and the one thing missing and that I do want to add is a vehicle. I know plenty of people in this forum who have served or are serving in the middle east, any tips on what kind of vehicles PMC's are using to transport VIP's?

Finding pics of these vehicles isn't hard. But good luck finding kits.

Thanks a lot Frenchy, it looks like I'll have to take a look at the automobile section I usually ignore, I figured as much, probably will need a bit of custom work. Thanks for the pics.

The 1/34 and 1/32 diecast models are the way to go for these vehicles. First Gear's trucks are really nice. I found a 1/34 Caddilac Escalade that I converted into a Suburban on eBay. It is made by Signature Models. Here is mine.
You can also use the older AMT, Esci, Monogram, and Revell 1/32 snap-tite vehicles. I used two 1/32 Toyota trucks to make a SF Crew Cab Toyota.
Keep an eye out for both the diecast and snap-tites on eBay. You can find some pretty good deals on them there.
Good luck.

That's some awesome modding Gino, looks like you had that idea as well. I would definetley enjoy the challange of building a model, so I'll look iut for those old plastic one's, too bad they don't make them in those sizes anymore.

I think I may have found a suitable plastic model to be used as a vehicle. The GL Wagon, or GL wolf used by German military, I know versions of it are utilized by KSK. The kit is a 1:35 by Revell Germany. I figure I could paint it white or any other random civilian color and pull it off. The problem of course would be the soft top, I'd have to do something about that. A lot of politicians use a civilian model like it here in Nicaragua. Hard tops that have a hatch on top.

Finding the right scale civilian vehicle is almost impossible. It is one thing I wish one of the modern kit makers would consider.1 or 2 would be great. For the first PMC set I bought I gave up searching and finally used a cheap Humvee I bought at a show and converted it to a domestic version. Not a lot of work, fill in the turret hole, basic interior, metallic paint for exterior and chrome on wheels.
