Are there any books devoted to this unit? Looking for information / photos that show its use of Tiger B's.

Check this site http://www.tiif.de/ the pictures are small but the collection is very complete (I think every known photo should be there. I can't see a book devoted only to the 505th but there's the Tiger in Combat 1 ad 2.
hope it helps

The book "Tiger I on the Eastern Front", Author Jean Restayn is a Historire & Collections publisher book. ISBN: 2 908 182 815.
Chapter 5 is on the Schwer Panzer Abteilung 505. Pages 58 - 73. This chapter contains 53 black white photos of the unit and 4 color profiles of it's tigers. There are also color illustrations of it's unit logos and a map of it's zones of operation during WWII.
I think it is just what you need.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ray

Thanks, guys.
Pawel - Great site! Looks like it's got a lot more on the Tiger I ... but then that always seems to be the case.
Ray - Does the book you suggested cover the Tiger B? The title isn't encouraging. On the other hand, info about the areas of operation, etc. would be interesting background.

Wolfgang Schneider's "Tigers in Combat, Volume 1," has a chapter devoted to each Heer battalion, including the 505th. It was reissued in a smaller paperback edition from Stackpole Books for around $20. The original hardback edition from Fedorowicz in Canada is larger, with better paper and photo reproduction, but it was also well over a hundred dollars new, and is now out of print. The photos are mostly from veterans, so don't expect the professional quality of the propaganda photos commonly used in books on the King Tiger (most of which depict the Heer 503rd, or the SS 501st).
Schneider also did a small, "Squadron in Action" style paperback book for Schiffer, that is the same idea on a smaller scale, since it groups the photos by unit.
Thomas Jentz wrote a useful little monograph on the King Tiger for Osprey New Vanguard, which had limited coverage of all the units (the book is only 48 pages, but it has a lot of good information).
Jentz also did a series of hardback books on the Tiger series for Schiffer, which are the mother lode for detailing a model, but have less on operations. One volume covered tactics, but it was more of a series of case studies, rather than a chronology of their operations. The final volume, "Tigers at the Front," is a selection of interesting photos of Tiger I and II tanks, but again, it's not organized like Schneider's book, being more of a broad survey.

Hi,
How about this book:
The Tiger Project - A Series Devoted to Germany’s World War II Tiger Tank Crews - Book 2: Horst Krönke - Schwere Panzer (Tiger) Abteilung 505

http://www.schifferbooks.com/newschiffer/book_template.php?isbn=0764321013
Never seen the book myself, but I have seen some good 505 TigerII pics from it.
'The Tiger Project-Book 1' is about the sPzAbt.503.
EDIT: It's a bit cheaper at Amazon:

Tiger B???? I'm going to plead ignorance and say I don't know what that is. The book just calls the pictures and profiles TIGERS period. I wouldn't know the "B" if it jumped up and bit me on the tush....sorry.

I'm never sure what name to use ... Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B, Tiger II, Tiger B, King Tiger, Royal Tiger, Konigstiger, the really bad ass one ... take your pick.
