EZ Tracks, which I think were the early version of Magic Tracks...could be wrong though. Should be indy links, anyway

Another member of Tiger family.
Just wondering how much PE they did throw in.

Only less than twenty such viecles were produced in the end of war, including even one with elephant's tracks. So in my opinion, to build one jagdtiger(p), numerous references are required and detailing is to be exacted to every bolt. So...... Nice looking while painful modeling.

Looks like a really nice kit but by placing the zimmerit at that height and placing a travel lock for the gun, limits the number of vehicles you can accurately model. As Dafeng said, there were only 11 porsche vehicles to begin with so with these details premolded you are limited to chasis numbers 6-10. I am pretty sure all of these went to 653. They did put the zimm on the side skirts correctly at least as far as I can tell but not sure why they didn't bother to place zimmerit on the rear mudflaps. If you don't want to do your own zimmerit and want to do one of these 5 vehicles, looks like a great kit!

The 653rd Schwere Panzerjager Abteilung received seven Porsche Jagdtigers, at least one of which did not have Zimmerit (vehicle 314, disabled by an air attack at Morsbronn, France, and subsequently blown up). Of the remainder, two were allocated as training vehicles, one was rejected by the Army due to unspecified defects in the armor, and went to a research center. The prototype was also held back for research.

Another one ?
Tamyia has 2 versions I think, Dragon has what 4 or 5 versions...
I have 3. That's enough I guess.
Let me guess they're gonna release another Zimmerit version soon too.
Then they're going to release special versions "JagdTiger from Lt X or Capt. Y"
I'm out of this one, I'd rather get a Zimmerit...

Tamiya has never offered the version with the early suspension (designed by Ferdinand Porsche, it didn't work very well, and production reverted to the Henschel design starting with the eleventh production chassis). Only the Porsche vehicles were produced during the period when the Zimmerit coating was in use, so there won't be any Henshel Jagdtiger kits with Zimmerit. Tamiya did offer a revised late Jagdtiger for Otto Carius (at a hefty markup), but they got the markings wrong. It does include revised parts for the engine deck, though.
This new Dragon item is intriguing because it's not clear what the heck "Easy Track" is. If it's link and length, that would be most welcome, as their individual link track for this variant is a real pain the backside to assemble (it's old school link to link, not "Magic Track").

I don't think this thread was intended to get into the operational history of the jagdtiger....
but chassis 305012 chassis was the last with the porsche suspension. Zimmerit stopped after 305010 in Sept 1944. The only Henschel in the first dozen vehicles was 305002 and did not have zimmerit or a gun lock. Devey covers all of this in the second of his two volume set on the jagdtiger.
The point being made is that for this vehicle the premolded details limits the modeler and offers no real advantage over the previous DML porsche kit. If you don't know want to do your own zimmerit and specifically want to model one of the last zimmerited jagdtigers this kit looks great.

Of course, if you don't want to do your own Zimmerit (or buy a resin set), but have the older Dragon kit, you have a choice of just two operational vehicles, so this new offering gives the less ambitious modeler a little more wiggle room. And while we don't always want to delve into production history and whatnot, it's almost unavoidable with limited production machines like the Porsche Jagdtiger. It's similar to what our friends, the ship modelers, go through when depicting a warship, since two vessels of the same class often differ markedly in specific details of construction.

mmhh I get it.
It's my bad mood..
Sometimes I think it's just a little too much, but you might be right... dragon or tamyia kit + resin zimmerit might be cheaper to get this kit.
