Hi everyone. I just wanted to show you guys something new, all comments are very welcomed.

The backstory is that almost 3 years ago i was diagnosed with Bi Polar 2 disorder. The medication i take allows me to live a nice, normal life. But one of the side effects of the meds has been that my creatitivity went away. So long story short my divorce started 4 months ago. Once i got moved into an appartment and got settled i started on a kit. I wanted one that was simple, easy to build, in short, enjoyable. This is the old tamiya kit, and yes, it is not a contest winner. I missed some sink holes, and the build isnt up to what i used to post here years ago.
But that said it is almost done. And for me that is a huge accomplishment. My wife in a fit of rage (has her own mental health issues) destroyed all my previous models i had built, save two. One was on loan to a hobby shop, the other, a 1/48 hetzer somehow survived all the smashing, and came out ok.
So for me to be building kits again is a huge thing. I have had to restart everything, cause she threw it all out, airbrush, paints, all my tools, everything.
So it isnt perfect, i just noticed the crack in the gun shield at the bottom. But i am not one to labor a model to death. Ok, here it is.
Thanks for listening.

Bill

Btw, these photos were taken with my cell phone camera. Not to bad alltogether for a cell camera. its 8.1 mega pixel.

Cleanly built, doesn't look like you've lost that "lovin' feeling" LOL!

My second wife had issues also. I'd build a kit, place it on the shelf, and within a few days it was mysteriously broken. I was competing heavily and travelling to a lot of car contests then. What I finally did, besides divorce, was buy a cheap kit, and build it simultaneously with a contest model.

I'd make a big show of the completed shelf queen, and hide the contest build.

That lasted a year before I packed up the kids and split.

Keep at it, you're well on the road to recovery.

That's some f$ck up $hit right there. To have to go to those extremes is absolutely mindblowing.

Again, welcome back Bill and hope to see more of your work here on the big 'A'

cheers

Welcome to the forum! Kit looks good! As you get more tools the technique will improve. I started back after twenty three vacation, "Why do you have to do the tanky thingies?" This wife does not complain, but she lets me do my thing.

A past doctor put me on Paxil for a while and I lost all interest in things. Turned out it was "Sleep Apnea", new doctor got me on a CPAP and off the drugs. So I know what the meds can do to you.

Bill,

Glad to see you posting something that you've taken the time and effort to build. You've done a clean and super job. Sorry about your situation. Never let anyone get in the way of the things that you enjoy and make you happy. Modeling is a part of what makes you be you. I went through a hard time on my first marriage, long story with only three models completed after 12 years . . . all three of them lost when I finally had enough courage to leave. I'm still in the same apartment after 10 years but now I am again married (almost 5 years) to a wonderful and loving wife that shares and encourages me with my hobby.

Anyhow, your on your way to a better day with each and every model and moment that passes by.

That's why I divorced her !

Fast forward to the current wife: Her comment about my hobby was very succinct. "I'd rather have you at the breakfast bar building a model, than in a bar hitting on one." Woman went out and bought me a bunch of kits for, get this, the Marine Corps birthday.

Thissuns a keeper.

Thanks everyone. I am still working on it, but not alot more. Just tools and basic weathering.

"Just like riding a bike" Absolutly you bet. Here is a picture of the other side of the room and you can see why that made me laugh.

Adds character. Never been much of a rivot counter myself just build for the joy of building. When the days enough to make me go insaine hiding away in the model building area takes me away from ALL things crappy. Welcome back and always remember if building models isn't fun your doing it for the wrong reason!

Dave

By the way, your garage looks like my brothers, I think he has a bike for every road condition out there and a couple that look like they may be for some type of lunar travel!
