Hi,

I just received an airbrush for christmas and after the first test (which worked great) I cleaned it as per the instructions and when I tried it again air backflowed into the cup and bubbled all the paint out in a big mess. What did I do wrong? I cleaned it again and tried it dry and can see that air is still flowing into the cup.

Help!

this is usually a clogged nozzle. the airbrush came with a wrench to unscrew the nozzle (take the needle out first) and soak the noz in windex for a few minutes and then clean it out gently with a thin wire. hope this fixes the problem, cheers, bd.

can you see a clogged nozel? I have cleaned the brush a couple times and can see through the nozzel. What would you see if the nozzel was clogged? I will try it all gaain. Is it the tiny holes next to the needle?

When you took it apart to clean it I suspect you have put the needle to far forward and the result is what is causing blowback.

Feeling pretty stupid now... it appears that when I put it together I forgot to put in the tip... found it and put it back in once analyzing the schematics again... damn newbie... sorry for troubling you all but thanks for your advice.

One question though, which size tip should be used for detail work? I put in a #5 and it was a really big spray and could not do thin lines. The #1 tip looks even bigger and the #3 seems the smallest. Does this make sense?

Thanks again.
