I've always used Model Master and Tamiya paints because they're the easiest to find, but yesterday I came across Mr. Color paints for the first time. I had hoped they would be compatible with Tamiya since they're both acrylic, but they're not.

What do you all think of Mr. Color paints compared to Tamiya and Model Master?

Hi

The main difference between Mr Color and Tamiya Acrylics is that although they are both Acrylic based paints the carrier is totally different. Tamiya use Alcohol and Mr Color use Cellulose (Lacquer).

The use of Lacquer makes the Mr Color paint quite a bit hotter which results in a very good bond with plastic.
